My apologies to Jeremy Clarkson
I have only known about Jeremy Clarkson through Top Gear and though he could be quite funny, I always thought him to be quite pompous, arrogant and a bully, especially to the lovely Richard Hammond! However, I have just read "For Crying Out Loud" (yeah, I know its been around for years), and was surprised to discover that I agreed with almost everything he said!!! Here is a man with that long lost gene "COMMON SENSE". Why is this book not compulsory reading for anyone who wants to go into politics, law, teaching, the church or anyone contemplating having children? I especially agree with what he says about the church. These organisations, no matter who your God is, are responsible for more wars than any despot, harbour most of the worlds paedophiles and own most of the world's wealth, to the detriment of the poor and underprivileged. I could never understand how the Pope/Archbishop/Cardinal/Mullah and other so-called "men of God" could sleep in their luxurious homes at night while millions around the world have no bed, let alone a roof over their heads. Many of us can relate to wanting to buy a mobile phone that just makes calls, or a watch that just tells the time, from someone who is over 19 and speaks English. So, now I need to get back down to the library (yep, still go there, even though I have kindle) and get some more Jeremy Clarkson wisdom. ps, I hope you have had a chance to see more rugby games, Jeremy. I noticed on page 262 that you claim the most important thing about rugby is watching Australia loose, again, so I'm assuming you have not seen many games!
